On April 15, 2008 the Grand County Council authorized
the Grand County Historic Preservation Commission to organize
and raise funds to conduct a study regarding the restoration
of the Dewey Bridge, partially destroyed in a fire. The
study will examine the integrity of the remaining steel
structure and cost estimates to reconstruct Dewey Bridge.
Tax deductible donations to fund this effort may be made
payable to Grand County. Please mail or turn in donations

Emergency Medical Incident of the Year Award
The Grand County EMS Department received the “Emergency Medical Incident of the Year Award” – honored by the Utah Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services – at the EMS Week Awards Ceremony held May 19, 2008 in Sandy, Utah for help rendered in the tour bus accident in San Juan County on January 6, 2008. Responding EMTs include: James Jackson, Kristina Betts, Paula Fuller, John Marshall, Phil Mosher, Jeff Davis, and Summer Jackson.
