Maintenance |
The Maintenance Department takes care of the buildings and
grounds of several of the County's entities and we are available
on an "as needed" basis for all of them. We utilize
Community Service workers and Inmate Trustees to do a variety
of tasks such as repairs & improvements, cleaning, moving & setting
up offices, preparing voting polls, and landscaping. On our
own we prepare and monitor budgets, order supplies, and maintain
the secure parts of the building that only Grand County employees
can access. We also act as liaisons between different departments
and/or entities of Grand County, and work with the council
and the Star Hall board on improving our public facilities.

1. Why does the County hire people to perform tasks
instead of just using inmates or community service workers?
Not all inmates are eligible to have Trustee status. Those
that are have to be supervised at all times. Community Service
workers and Trustees are not available consistently. So we
use them when we have them and fill in when we don't.
2. How do I rent the Star Hall?
Call Marvin Day @ 220-0190 or Teressa Lammert @ 259-7386
between 8-5, M-F. They will be happy to help you. Click
here for more details.
3. Is the Star Hall available to the public or does
it have to be a County group or function?
The Star Hall is a public facility. We require a deposit,
insurance and a usage fee. Once all that is set up you sign
an agreement of usage with the County and you are set. Click
here for more details.
4. Where do I go to set up community service work
that I have been sentenced to do by the Courts?
Call our office and make an appointment, or check out this
website for a list of non-profit organizations that are eligible.
5. How do I know if the business or group is eligible
for community service?
Any Non-Profit organization will do.
6. I would like to use community service workers.
How do I add my organization or group to the list?
Contact Marvin Day and for instructions regarding the steps required to achieve approval from the courts.
7. Who orders your supplies?
Colleen does the ordering. If you are a salesman we appreciate
you making an appointment.
8. If I live in the County and I am having problems
with my streets should I call your office?
No. The Grand County Road Dept. (259-5308) takes care of
that.
9. Do you take care of booking the Lions Park?
We take care of maintaining the buildings and grounds only.
The Lions Club takes care of booking.
