GRAND COUNTY COUNCIL 2013 MEETING SCHEDULE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the Grand County Council's regularly scheduled 2013 open and public meetings. Meetings will be held monthly on 1st & 3rd Tuesdays, with one exception, at 3pm for administrative matters and reconvening at 7pm for public interest matters. Due to New Year’s Day Holiday, the first January meeting will be held the first Wednesday. Council Administrative Workshops, if needed, will be held on 5th Tuesdays at 3pm. All meetings will be held in the Council Chambers of the Courthouse at 125 East Center Street, Moab, Utah. Meeting dates, times and location are subject to change.

Notice of Board Vacancy

Sand Flats Recreation Area Stewardship Committee has a vacancy. Position opened until filled.

            Qualifications to serve on a Grand County Board:

  1. Reside in Grand County unless otherwise noted.
  2. Have the appropriate expertise when required by law.
  3. Agree to abide by the County’s Conflict of Interest Ordinance.

            Qualifications to serve on the Sand Flats Recreation Area Stewardship Committee:
A representative of mechanized (i.e. mountain biking) or pedestrian recreational activities associated with the Sand Flats Recreation Area.            

Interested parties shall review Conflict of Interest Ordinance No. 462 and complete the “Board, Commission, and Committee Certification and Application Form,” both available online at www.grandcountyutah.net/documents.htm or at the Grand County Council’s Office. Interested parties should also review Operating Procedures for the Sand Flats Recreation Area Stewardship Committee available at the Grand County Council’s Office. Completed forms shall be delivered to council@grandcountyutah.net or Council’s Office, 125 E. Center, Moab, UT 84532.  For more information call (435) 259-1386. The public and media have the ability to subscribe to and automatically receive public meeting notices or notice updates, and the new website has the capability to offer access to past public meeting minutes. GENERAL NOTICE TO CONTROL NOXIOUS WEEDS

Notice is hereby given this First day of February, 2012 Pursuant to the Utah Noxious Weed Act, Section 7, to every person who owns or controls lands in Grand County, Utah, that noxious weeds standing, being, or growing on such land shall be controlled and the spread of same prevented by effective cutting, tillage, cropping, pasturing, or treating with chemicals or other methods, or combination methods, or combination thereof, approved by the County Weed Supervisor, as often as may be required to prevent the weed from blooming and maturing seeds, or spreading by root, root stalks or other means.

Upon failure to comply with this notice, the owner or persons in possession of property upon which noxious weeds are present shall be deemed negligent and enforced control measures may be imposed at the discretion of county authorities. Expenses of control measures employed by the county shall be paid directly by the owner or person in possession of the property or shall constitute a lien on the property and become collectible by taxes.
