REQUEST FOR CONCESSIONAIRE PROPOSALS
Grand County is accepting sealed proposals to provide concessionaire services for the Old Spanish Trail Arena, located at 3641 S. Hwy 191, Moab, UT 84532.
Proposal specifications may be obtained at the County Clerk’s Office, 125 E Center St, Moab, Utah 84532 and online by clicking here. All sealed proposals properly marked must be turned into the Clerk/Auditor’s Office by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 30, 2010. The County Council reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or waive minor defects as it deems appropriate. For further information, please contact Jeff Foster, 3641 S. GRAND COUNTY COUNCIL 2010 MEETING SCHEDULE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Grand County Council will meet on the first and third Tuesdays of each month with the following exception: When the meeting falls on a County-observed holiday or Election Day, the meeting will be changed to the following day. Council Meetings will begin at 3pm for Administrative Matters, unless otherwise noted, and will reconvene at 7pm for Public Matters. The meetings will be held in the County Council Chambers at the Courthouse, 125 East Center Street, Moab, Utah. Meeting dates, times and location are subject to change. Dates scheduled for the regular Council Meetings are as follow:

Administrative Workshops are scheduled for the fifth Tuesday of the month at 5pm in the County Council Chambers, as needed. Other Special Meetings are scheduled as needed. All Council Meetings and Special Meetings, including Administrative Workshops, are posted a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the meeting at the County Courthouse near the Council Chambers and electronically at the Grand County website, www.grandcountyutah.net and at the State Public Meeting Notice website, www.pmn.utah.gov.

NOTICE OF GRAND COUNTY & DISTRICT BOARD VACANCIES

The following District Boards have vacancies with new terms expiring 12/31/2013 unless otherwise noted below. Applications may be sent to council@grand.state.ut.us or delivered to the Council’s Office, 125 E. Center St., Moab, UT 84532.
Grand County Boards:
- Airport Board – 1 vacancy with term expiring 12/31/2011
Qualifications to serve on a Grand County Board are as follows:
- Reside in Grand County unless otherwise noted.
- Have the appropriate expertise when required by law.
- Agree to abide by the County’s Conflict of Interest Ordinance.
Special Service District Boards in Grand County:
- Thompson Springs Special Service Fire District – 2 vacancies with terms expiring 12/31/2013
Qualifications to serve on a Special Service District Board in Grand County are as follows:
- Reside in Grand County unless otherwise noted.
- No appointed member of the Board may be a full or part-time employee of the District while serving on the Board.
- No person employed by a Special Service District as a full-time or part-time employee may serve on the governing Board of the District.
- A Board Member may not be compensated separately as a Board Member and as an employee for providing the same service.
- Each Trustee/Board Member appointed by the County Legislative Body shall be a registered voter within the Special Service District.

GENERAL NOTICE TO CONTROL NOXIOUS WEEDS
Notice is hereby given this First day of April 2009, pursuant to the Utah Noxious Weed Act, Section 7, to every person who owns or controls land in Grand County, Utah, that noxious weeds standing, being, or growing on such land shall be controlled and the spread of same prevented by effective cutting, tillage, cropping, pasturing, or treating with chemicals or other effective methods, or combination thereof, approved by the County Weed supervisor, as often as may be required to prevent the weed from blooming and maturing seeds, or spreading by root, root stalks or other means.
Upon failure to comply with this notice, the owner or person in possession of property upon which noxious weeds are present shall be deemed negligent and enforced control measures may be imposed at the discretion of county authorities. Expenses of control measures employed by the county shall be paid directly by the owner or person in possession of the property, or shall constitute a lien on the property and become collectible by taxes.
