2018 IPC, IMC, IFGC Code Changes

This course will be a refresher on the plumbing requirements of the 2015 International Residential Code, an in depth look at the changes made to the 2018 International Plumbing, Mechanical and Fuel Gas Codes and energy code provisions pertaining to commercial & residential plumbing.

International Fire Council: IFC Firestop Plan Review and Inspection

The International Firestop Council
The training focused on the requirements, proper inspection, and inspections needed for different firestop applications. Topics included importance, balanced fire protection, code requirements and testing, penetration firestop systems, joint systems, perimeter fire containment systems, duct enclosure systems, and plan review / inspection of firestopping.

will be presenting an overview of walkable roof deck membranes and roofing systems during lunch.
2012 IECC with Uta
h State Amendments Update

During the 2013 Utah Legislative Session Utah lawmakers passed House Bill 202, which adopted the complete 2012 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) for commercial buildings and created a hybrid version of the 2006, 2009, and 2012 IECC for new homes in Utah. On January 15, 2014, Utah’s Uniform Building Code Commission approved the Utah version of U.S. DOE’s REScheck software (with modifications to provide compliance calculations for Utah’s hybrid residential IECC) and voted to make the changes to Utah’s updated energy codes took effect July 1, 2014.
This course included a review of each of the amendments to the residential chapters in 2012 IECC and requirements in the commercial chapters of the 2012 IECC including Envelope Leakage Visual Inspection and Testing requirements, definitions, climate zones, compliance options, building thermal envelope, mechanical systems, and commercial building lighting.

Fundamentals of the 2012 International Mechanical Code

The webinar course presented mechanical systems, terminology, equipment, materials, and methods for the advanced as well as the intermediate to beginner. It provided the opportunity to enhance understanding and knowledge in ventilation and exhaust systems, fire dampers, smoke dampers, return air paths, duct systems, and more helping out with plan reviews as well in field inspections.

Utah IECC Residential Energy Code Training: Are you ready for July 1st, 2014?

The updated energy code is expected to reduce energy costs in new commercial buildings by 18% and by 10% in new homes, on average. These energy savings will also pump about $18 million into the state’s economy over the next 10 years through reduced energy expenses in Utah's new, more efficient homes. This webinar will provide a short overview of the new residential energy code provisions adopted in HB 202 and a detailed presentation on the new air leakage and duct testing requirements as part of Utah’s IECC residential energy code.

2014 National Electrical Code Update

Two-day session designed to deliver clear information to help the attendee understand 2014 National Electrical Code (NEC) code compliance rationale and compliance tools. Day One covered the various code changes of the NEC including definitions, general requirements, branch circuits, feeder conductors, outside branch circuits and feeders, service requirements, overcurrent protection, grounding and bonding, wiring methods and materials, equipment for general use, special equipment and systems. Day Two covered the essential 2011 NEC requirements for single family dwellings including NEC definitions, general requirements, branch circuits, required outlets, locations of devices and equipment, service requirements, grounding requirements, and wiring methods. In addition, the course covered changes to solar photovoltaic (PV) requirements based on the 2014 NEC including: article 690 definitions, general requirements, wire color designation, DC voltage allowance, disconnects,overcurrent protection, rapid shutdown of systems, wiring methods, grounding, and point of connection requirements.
