Nature of incident: Base jumping accident
Injuries: Fatality
Date and time: May 30, 2017 at 20:41(8:41 p.m.)
Location: Mile marker 1 on SR 128. Jump location has name of “G” spot an approximate 320’ cliff above the Goose Island Recreation site on the Colorado River.
Decedent: Seth F. Graham 34 year old male. Resident of Moab, Utah
On May 30, 2017 at 8:41 p.m. a base jumping accident was witnessed by person with Canyonlands by Night that was passing the area of Goose Island on a boat tour of the Colorado River. Grand County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch was notified of the accident. Grand County EMS, Grand County Search and Rescue and Grand County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident site. Mr. Graham died as a result of the injuries sustained in the accident. Mr. Graham was jumping alone at the time of the accident.
