Get a Library Card
We have several types of library card options based on your current address and check-out needs.
Resident Card
Requires:
- Photo ID issued by a unit of government, organization, school, or employer.
- Proof of a current Grand County address. See below for a list of acceptable residency documents.
Details:
- Free
- 20 item check-out limit and access to Grand County Library digital content (Libby).
- Card expires 1 year from date of issue and/or renewal date. May be renewed for free as long as address is still within Grand County.
Introductory Card
Requires:
- Photo ID issued by a unit of government, organization, school, or employer.
- A current Grand County address or work location.
Details:
- Free
- 10 item check-out limit.
- Card expires 1 year from date of issue and/or renewal date. May be renewed for free as long as address or work location is still within Grand County.
Introductory + Digital Card
Requires:
- Photo ID issued by a unit of government, organization, school, or employer.
- A current Grand County address or work location.
Details:
- $75 annual fee
- 10 item check-out limit and access to Grand County Library digital content (Libby).
- Card expires 1 year from date of issue and/or renewal date. May be renewed for $75 fee as long as address or work location is still within Grand County.
San Juan Interlocal Agreement Card
Requires:
- Photo ID issued by a unit of government, organization, school, or employer.
- A current address in the area covered by the San Juan Interlocal Agreement (ILA): Spanish Valley, Bridger Jack, Brown’s Hole, Pack Creek Ranch, Rockland Ranch.
Details:
- Free
- 20 item check-out limit.
- Card expires 1 year from date of issue and/or renewal date. May be renewed for free as long as address is still within area covered by the San Juan ILA.
San Juan Interlocal Agreement + Digital Card
Requires:
- Photo ID issued by a unit of government, organization, school, or employer.
- A current address in the area covered by the San Juan Interlocal Agreement (ILA): Spanish Valley, Bridger Jack, Brown’s Hole, Pack Creek Ranch, Rockland Ranch.
Details:
- $75 annual fee
- 20 item check-out limit and access to Grand County Library digital content (Libby).
- Card expires 1 year from date of issue and/or renewal date. May be renewed for $75 fee as long as address is still within area covered by the San Juan ILA.
Non-Resident Basic Card
Requires:
- Photo ID issued by a unit of government, organization, school, or employer.
Details:
- $35 annual fee
- 20 item check-out limit.
- Card expires 1 year from the issue date.
- Adults with this type of card may be guarantors for free juvenile or teen non-resident cards. Youth cards will be listed as guarantees and renewed whenever the adult card is renewed.
Non-Resident + Digital Card
Requires:
- Photo ID issued by a unit of government, organization, school, or employer.
Details:
- $110 annual fee
- 20 item check-out limit and access to Grand County Library digital content (Libby).
- Card expires 1 year from the issue date.
- Adults with this type of card may be guarantors for free juvenile or teen non-resident cards. Youth cards will be listed as guarantees and renewed whenever the adult card is renewed.
Note: All library fees are set annually by the Grand County Commission Fee Ordinance.
Acceptable Proof of Grand County Residency
Proof of current Grand County address must list:
- Residential street address in Grand County not a mailbox, workplace address, hotel or campground.
- Library card applicant’s name with a Grand County address.
For a Resident library card, please provide 2 items from the list below (unless otherwise indicated):
- Current Utah driver’s license (no additional item needed).
- Grand County tax rolls (no additional item needed).
- Piece of mail delivered by the USPS, FedEx, or UPS to residential street address not a mailbox, workplace address, hotel or campground.
- Business address is acceptable if library card applicant is the property owner.
- Utility Bill dated within 90 days.
- Vehicle registration or insurance card.
- Signed rental agreement, official rent receipt, contract or lease (not workplace address - terms must be longer than 6 months).
- Bank statement or personalized check.
Electronic versions of documents from the above list will be accepted.
